About Us

Previously known as BelleVedere Theatre, Idol Complex are a theatre company based in Manchester. Taking inspiration from both historical figures and the depths of our own imaginations, we bring new writing with a focus on women's and queer stories to the stage in the hopes of telling kinds of stories that haven't been told before.

Founded by a group of university friends in 2017, we have performed on stages both in the UK and abroad. Our previous shows have been Cherry Pickings (2018), The Death of a Muse (2019) and our latest project What Happened to Connie Converse? (2023) will be hitting the stage at The King's Arms in Salford this July
